The Rinaldi Foundation is always seeking new ways to support its programs and projects.  Throughout 2017, these efforts took the form of a nation-wide raffle, aimed at raising money for tuition scholarships for students who are most in need.

Touting a grand prize of a brand new Hyundai Eon, raffle tickets were sold throughout the country to hopeful participants.  To publicize the fundraiser billboard space was purchased, a video clip was produced, commercials aired on the radio, and many people spread the news by word of mouth.

In December, after many hard months of selling tickets and promoting the fundraiser, the drawing for the raffle was finally held.  Of the 47,240 tickets that were sold, 18 lucky winners had their numbers selected.  In addition to the Hyundai Eon, other prizes included new living and bedroom room sets, an iPhone and Galaxy S7, as well as a tablet, laptops, and television.  Ecstatic winners were soon notified.

On January 31, 2018, the Feast of St. John Bosco, the grand prize was remitted to its new owner.  After a Mass and banquet in celebration of the feast, M. Wentinop Boyer, of Petit Goave, received his new car.  M. Boyer expressed his appreciation and joy at winning as he drove away with his new means of transportation.  It was an also an thrilling day for the other winners who were present to receive their prizes as well.

However, the most exciting part of it all was the fact that money was raised to help students.  Over $19,000 USD was raised from the raffle to support the future of Haiti’s children.
